设计理念:
‘Panlong’ means ‘Coiled Dragon’, and the site is an archeological wonder of more than 3500 years. The Shang Dynasty was the second feudal empire in ancient China; they had sacrificial rituals and slavery, but they also gave us the first recorded and most legendary female Generals, highly sophisticated socio-political framework, elegant hieroglyphics carved on tortoise shells, and smelting technology that made bronze alloys. The soil here is drenched in history, and to preserve the site through ecologically-minded planning and design is our team’s top priority. Only through a reverent and respectful approach can we justify any commercial development atop the precious evidence of an ancient and splendid civilization. To complete such a special mission at the behest of the City Council, our team of experts explored different planning ideas, consulted numerous experts of various academic disciplines, and carried out thorough research within the guidelines set down by the Architecture History Graduate School of the China Architecture Design and Research Group. After 3 months of on-site inspection, extensive reading of relevant documents, and in-depth studies of other out-standing examples of archeological national parks, we decided to base the principles of our design on the unique geographic attributes and cultural significance of the ruin. We are to tell a contemporary story of humanity on an ecologically sustainable stage of Shang Culture; we are to rejuvenate the dormant root of our great city, and see the force of new life reverberate through antiquity.
