洪山体育中心建成于1986年，位于武昌核心洪山广场西侧。由6000座的洪山体育馆由洪山体育馆、英东游泳跳水馆、洪山网球俱乐部、少儿体校等组成，举办了历届重要体育赛事，为体育事业做出了杰出贡献。但由于建设时间早，服役时间长，导致现状条件较差，无法与现有的城市功能需求相符。我们应联体投的要求对洪体中心进行了整体策划及规划设计，对洪体中心进行整体重建。重建后的洪体中心，将体育馆改造升级扩大，届时能举办万人级别的体育赛事和演出，使得接待人数大幅提升，升级为现代化的综合体育馆。同时规划设计了国内规模最大、内容最为丰富、设施最为先进全民健身中心，面积达到15万平米，可满足6000人同时健身。将体育产业进行上下游扩充，最大化程度丰富体育产业内核，将开发与经营融入到前期策划及规划中，综合考虑多方面因素，将“健康中国、健康湖北”的目标贯穿于整个设计之中，打造国际一流中国顶级的全民健身运动中心。

 

Hongshan Sports Center was founded in 1986 on the West Side of Hongshan Square, right in the heart of Wuchang District. The Sports Center consisted of a Stadium, a Diving Pavilion, a Tennis Club, and a School of Physical Education. The old beloved building had contributed much over the years, and large numbers of competitions and sporting events were held here.

After more than 30 years of use and abuse, the facilities had become worn and inadequate, and the Sports Center can no longer fulfill the demand of a fast growing city. It’s time for an upgrade. We have carried out an overall evaluation of the Sports Center; and plans and designs for a thorough renovation were set down. A newly improved Sports Center would be able to contain up to 10000 spectators and become a modern multifunctional venue. The Fitness Center within would have an area of up to 150000 m² and a capacity of up to 6000 people. It will be the largest gymnasium with the most comprehensive range of facilities in the country. The construction of such a Sports Center shall enrich the sports business and promote healthy life styles nationwide.
